Ice cream may not be the best reason to come to church but it never hurts. This Sunday night, October 23, we will be hosting a missions panel with the guests listed below. We will also be serving ice cream from Shermans in South Haven so be sure to join us at 6:00 pm.
Jason & Lisa Hovingh have been one of Immanuel's Global Partners in Kenya for many years serving with Heart of the Bride. For a few years they have had a growing desire to rub shoulders with and help people in areas where there is no one else sharing about the gospel of Jesus. Two examples are the Zanzibari Omansis who need someone who speaks Swahili and likes agriculture to reach them and there are the Boni people near the island of Ilama.
Wayne Huhta has been a long-term Global Partner with Immanuel. Wayne (and his wife Esther who is now with the Lord) has a long history of involvement in radio work, much of it starting in Zeeland. In 1989 he was appointed a full-time missionary with HCJB and served in Texas and Arizona constructing and maintaining radio studios and transmitter sites. In 2003 Wayne and Esther transferred to the HCJB Global Technology Center in Elkhart, Indiana (now SonSet Solutions) where Wayne helps partner ministries establish missionary radio stations in worldwide locations.
Timothy Mang has been the pastor of Zo Baptist Church in Galemio, Myanmar. He is also the retired President of the Zo Baptist Association and Baptist College. Timothy attended Immanuel 18-20 years ago while attending Western Seminary in Holland. Timothy brings some unique insights into what has been taking place in the Christian church in Myanmar (formerly Burma) over the past number of years.
