Kathleen (Kay) G. Bruursema, age 95, of Holland, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2015.
Born and raised in Holland, she was a member of Immanuel Church of Holland, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband Marinus, who passed away in 1988; also preceding are her brothers, Alvin and Delbert Tyink, and sisters, Sally Dehaan and Donna Bos.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Terry) Essenburg, and Barb (Bob) VandenElst; brothers, Russ and James Jr. (Myra) Tyink; sisters, Esther (Jason) Ebels, Jean (Bud) Whitehead, and Carla (Bill) Vanderbie; and sister in law, Marlene Tyink; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00am, Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, MI, with a reception following. Reverend Robert Terpstra will be officiating.
Visiting hours will be from 10:00-11:00am, at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Immanuel Church of Holland's building fund, 325 104th Avenue, Holland, MI.
